Road Safety Survey

Horsham District Community Safety Partnership has Road Safety as a priority for 2026-2027 and would like to hear from residents and businesses about any road safety concerns they may have.

A short survey has been created, open until the end of July, which should only take a few minutes to complete.

Email received from EDF Solar..We would like to let you know that EDF power solutions has decided not to progress with plans for the Picts Lane solar farm and battery storage system at this time.

As part of the drive to deliver the UK’s net zero goals, the National Energy System Operator conducted a nationwide review of planned energy connections. Our planned grid connection to the Bolney substation was affected as part of this review, and the new timescales available and costs required mean that this project is no longer feasible for EDF power solutions to progress.

EDF power solutions is very grateful to the Cowfold community for engaging with us and for participating in the consultation process last year. There were some incredibly useful discussions and meetings, and we again thank you for taking an interest in the proposals. It gave us a chance to learn what people think about renewable energy developments in general, not just in this location. We will be able to use these lessons to enhance our engagement around projects elsewhere, continuing our commitment to supporting communities as well as providing clean energy.

We wish the Cowfold community every success. Kind regards, Community Liaison Team On behalf of EDF power solutions

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Cowfold Skate Park, Cowfold Recreation Ground

On behalf of Cowfold Parish Council we have an important update regarding the skatepark.

Following concerns raised by local residents, we’ve found the equipment is badly damaged and no longer meets safety standards.

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to repair it, so we have made the difficult decision to remove it over the next couple of days.

We are really sorry to have to take this step; we know how much the park is used and loved.

However, once the safety issues were identified, we had to act quickly to keep everyone safe.

We are very keen to explore ways to bring a new skatepark to Cowfold! We are starting to look into options and funding, and we’ll keep the community updated as we progress.

Thanks for your understanding.
