What is the Cowfold Neighbourhood Plan?

The Cowfold Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led initiative that allows local residents to shape future development in Cowfold. It sets out a vision and planning policies to guide decisions on housing, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability, ensuring that growth aligns with the village’s character and needs.

The plan underwent examination in April 2021, and following recommendations for modifications, it was subject to a focused consultation on water neutrality from 2 September to 14 October 2024. This consultation addressed concerns raised by Natural England regarding water resource impacts. The plan has since been updated and is awaiting a referendum, anticipated in winter or spring 2025. Once approved, it will become part of the statutory development plan, influencing planning decisions in Cowfold.
