St Catherine’s Hospice
St Catherine’s is your local hospice with a big ambition: to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain-free. Providing expert hospice care, St Catherine’s is there for people in Sussex and Surety when life comes full circle.
Its skilled teams are on hand to support people living with terminal illness in their homes, at its Day Hospice and on its wards.
St Catherine’s cares for around 80% of patients in the comfort of their own homes, where they can be close to people, memories and things most important to them. In 2018, the community team made over 8,500 visits to people’s homes.
As well as assisting patients with symptom control, medication, caring for wounds and advising on skincare, the community team will support the whole family by offering reassurance, advice and respite from the physical and emotional demands upon them.
The community team ensures the individual needs and wishes of people are met, ensuring they spend their final days as pain free, dignified and comfortable as possible.
Although the Hospice cared for around 1,200 people at the end of their life in 2018, it could help three times this number each year if it had sufficient funds. So, please consider making a donation today!
