HDC Health Walk: Cowfold “Snowdrop Walk”

A 4¾ mile gentle flat circular walk (some stiles) taking 2½ hours, through quiet lanes and paths. It WILL be wet and muddy in places but we may see snowdrops. Meet in the middle of the village by the Playing Field, at the junction of Fairfield Cottages and the A272, RH13 8BL (TQ214225). No Dogs. Leader: Jill (07780 701184).

HDC Health Walk: Sedgwick Park Circular

Hillier Garden Centre United Kingdom

We have had permission to park at Hillier Garden Centre, Brighton Road. (RH13 6QA). Please drive into the parking area, and drive right down to the bottom on the gravel and park there. There is a bus stop right outside the Garden centre, it is route 17 to Brighton. A lovely 6 mile walk, taking 2½ hours, along the byways and footpaths just south of Horsham We go down Kerves Lane and then across to Sedgwick Park. Lovely views across Horsham and the south east, particularly in the winter. There will be horses and cows in the fields we cross, so please no dogs. Maybe muddy in places. The café in the Garden Centre offers tasty snacks at lunchtime. Leaders: Douglas (01403 268807) or Jill (07780 701184).

HDC Health Walk: NEW WALK Whitemans Green, Cuckfield

Whitemans Green Car Park (Recreation Ground)

Meet in the car park of Whitemans Green recreation ground (not the Rugby club), Staplefield Road (TQ301256, RH17 5HX). Heading north over the golf course the 5¼ mile walk, taking 2¼ hours, includes fields and woodland. Good views from the High Weald Landscape Trail as we walk towards Borde Hill gardens before returning via the outskirts of Cuckfield. No dogs please, as we may encounter livestock. St Mary’s Church, Horsham

Meet at St Mary’s Church, Causeway, RH12 1HE (TQ171303). A 5-mile circular walk, taking 2½ hours, past the elegant spired 13th Century church of St Mary the Virgin, over the meadows and gentle wooded slopes of Denne Park, to Coltstaple Lane and back along Pedlar’s Way to Horsham via Chesworth Farm. Lovely views of Horsham. Some stiles. Sorry, no dogs. Leader: Jill Shuker (07780 701184).
