We have had permission to park at Hillier Garden Centre, Brighton Road. (RH13 6QA) Please drive into the parking area, and drive right down to the bottom on the gravel and park there. There is a bus stop right outside the Garden centre, it is route 17 to Brighton. A lovely 6 mile walk, taking 2½ hours, along the byways and footpaths just south of Horsham We go down Kerves Lane and then across to Sedgwick Park. Lovely views across Horsham and the south east, particularly in the winter. There will be horses and cows in the fields we cross, so please no dogs. Maybe muddy in places. The 5½ mile walk taking 2½ hours, is clockwise or anti-clockwise via the Wapple Way, conker alley and Warnham. Return to Rookwood for refreshments. Can be muddy. Toilets available. Sorry, no dogs. A 13 mile circular route, taking 4½ hours, which virtually encompasses the town of Horsham using paths along various watercourses and passing through woodland, pastures and farmland. There will be a photographic competition and a Children’s Treasure Hunt. This year we will have a special visitor, Paddington Bear!!
Meet at the Horsham Rugby Club in Hammerpond Road (RH13 6PJ). Clear directional signage and stewards will ensure the correct route is followed. Refreshment and toilets are at Horsham Rugby Club, Chesworth Farm, Warnham Local Nature Reserve and New House Farm. If you decide not to walk the whole route you can take the free minibus back to the start from designated pick up points on the route.
